Prosecco tasting notes

Just opened the second bottle of Ombra Prosecco, I bought a half case of this back at the beginning of the summer and finally got around to trying it.

First impressions;
I was surprised at the low 'bubble'factor, this wine is fairly still in the glass but happily it has a nice fizz on the tongue.

Flavour
There is very little nose and the flavour is correspondingly delicate, I'd suggest it as a great Summer drink, light refreshing with a flavour reminiscent of elderflower. Not too dry and a slight metallic tang to keeps it fresh rather than sweet.
I think this would work nicely as an aperitif, with most white meats, fish and light delicate flavoured dishes. Its unlikely to stand up to cheeses or spices however. I'd suggest it as a lovely summer tea party drink with cucumber sandwiches and potted crab, or for drinking on its own whilst relaxing in a garden arbour.

The lightness makes it nicely drinkable, and at 11% rather than the 12 or 13% of some other sparklers you can indulge a little bit more.

Overall this is a reasonable alternative to cava or Champagne for those who find the heady bubbles of some Sparkling wines a little too much.
